Investment Partners Launches Quantitative Research Team
Daken J. Vanderburg Named First Director of Quantitative Research
Berwyn, PA, March 3, 2008 – Chartwell Investment Partners, a leading employee owned investment firm, has announced the appointment of Daken J. Vanderburg as Portfolio Manager and Director of Quantitative Research. As Director, Mr. Vanderburg will be responsible for heading up the firm’s first quantitative research team designed to augment Chartwell’s existing investment strategies. Mr. Vanderburg, who is joined by software developer John Perkins, will report to Timothy Riddle, Managing Partner and CEO at Chartwell.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to bring these two talented professionals to the firm,” said Mr. Riddle. “The new quantitative research team will complement our current investment strategies by building and developing more refined factor attribution software, individual risk models and to eventually develop new product offerings.”
Vanderburg, who holds the CFA designation, joins Chartwell from Gamma Capital Advisors, where he served as Partner and Portfolio Manager. Previous to that, he was a Partner and Senior Risk Manager at e-Knox/DTF. Mr. Vanderburg is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of Philadelphia, Society of Quantitative Analysts and the International Association of Financial Engineers. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from the University of New Mexico and has completed graduate coursework in statistics and mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Perkins also comes to Chartwell from Gamma Capital Advisors, where he served as a Software Developer. Mr. Perkins earned his degree in Computer Science from Drexel University. |
